Attempting to drive away or run away when the law enforcing officer is asking to halt is a serious offence. It could be more serious when the driver injures some others on the way to flee from the place. Any person helping the fleeing person can also be booked under criminal offence.
Eluding NJ police is a serious crime and heavy penalties can be slapped on the person.
There can be different types of people. Some people are always engaged in doing good. Whereas there might be others who are always engaged in doing bad things and earning money from wrong ways. Those people would be engaged with all sorts of crimes, theft, burglary etc. So these guys shall be always on the run. Those folks are afraid of police and expects to be caught by them sooner or later.
Long time back most of the police were only gents. But when atrocities against women started to rise, the government started to recruit more lady police officers to assist the deprived women. These can lead to a sense of anger and depression. This will prompt the person to steal. At first it may be to survive. Initial stealing would be food items. Later it will lead to other items. When few guys are taken to court, the bench may criticize the government. The judiciary may state that due to the less care given by government, people fall into crimes like these. The government would be ashamed in front of judiciary. This is why petty cases like these, would not be charged by police quite often.
There may be people who enter into criminal activities for getting money. Those people loot others and earn money. Some even harm others in the process of looting. This may lead to injuries or even deaths. A death offence together with looting is more serious than injuries occurred to the other person.
Few individuals live a lavish life after the robbery. Those groups book suites in big hotels and live a posh life for two to three months. Once their money is finished, would be back to square one. Again indulges in crimes. A bad guy cannot escape from police forever. One or two times these people can be successful. But the third time those guys may be caught.
People with criminal mind sets, even if caught and put in prison for few months, would not change themselves. Once out of prison, those guys will again continue with the same activity. In some prisons, psychological sessions shall be conducted for the prisoners. This may help many prisoners to behave well and treat others with respect.
Women officer who has to report to work on night duties feels very irritated. These officers will not be able to spend good time with their children and it affects their morale. In some countries due to less staffs, officers would have to provide guard for dead bodies at remote places in the night. Sometimes officers would meet with sexual atrocities from their higher officials also.
